I am considering adding to my current collection of phones/networks and am seriously thinking about joining Orange 3G.
I need some serious and honest feedback from Orange 3G users to help me make my mind up.
So basically how has it been so far ?
what problems have you come across ?
were they recurring and how was your problem resolved or is it still happening ?
They are the basics but would be happy to hear about any of your experiences so far.
I know there is limited handset choice so far but the Nokia 6630 looks favourite.
Sorry if this sort of thing has been posted before but just wanted my own thread to match my criteria !
PS - If you have not got/had an Orange 3G phone please dont post the normal hearsay etc.
Cheers

Ok, well, so far for me it's been pretty good. I'd recommend Orange Care given the turbulent world of 3G handsets at present, just to make sure you don't have any trouble, but I'd recommend the same on Voda or 3.
I had some issues with this 'missed call alert but phone didn't ring' issue on my old Z1010, but since they replaced it I haven't had it again. Worth noting that they also replaced my USIM. It's undecided here whether it's a network or handset issue, but I think basically the vibe is that if you have problems don't settle until you get a satisfactory outcome - even if that means taking your phone back.
So, that's a "yes, there are problems, but mine was resolved" from me. 350 is great for any questions/queries (you get straight through), Orange World is developing nicely (music tracks and videos are only just starting to make an appearance), and 3G coverage seems to be available in a vast number of locations. 3G-2G in-call handover is seamless.

i like it.
like abs i have had the missed call issue a couple of times with the z1010. i have now been given the new nokia and a new usim to test and i got the missed call error within 24 hrs of having the phone.
3g to 2g handover while in a call is flawless, never had a dropped call.
the nokia is nice but i think the o.s. is a bit slow. it takes quite a while for the phone to switch on after pressing the button. this may be normal but as i have never had a symbian handset before it just seems slow.

Personally got a Sanyo, this is not a novices phone and comes with useless instruction manual, (although basic functions are clear and simple), but once you work it out it has been rocksolid for me. No dropped calls, no missed calls, seemless 3g-2.5g handover. Also options are active to lock onto GSM only if you are in an area of poor 3g reception. Fast data access including as a modem for my PDA.
350 have allways been very helpful, polite and thorough.
Only negatives were slow initial registering of the phone. In an area of poor 3g coverage where the phone is constantly switching it will occaisionally soft reset itself, this can be resolved by locking onto 2.5g. Bluetooth is bizarrely implemented on this handset, however I was eventually able to ***hom it with some assistance from 350 and it now works well, although not perfectly.

I'm happy so far, phone is nice and no problems as yet, network is stable and connections made every time. Messages send quickly. Haven't needed to use CS yet but then again I've rarely needed to call any network's CS in the past!

Happy as a pig in muck :)
Got the Sanyo S750, and have found most of its undocumented features now (well, nearly all!)
Seamless 2.5-3G, and with a 512MB SD card in the slot, a great little MP3 player too...
I'm currently encoding some movies to put on my SD card, so I can watch them on my phone too :)
