I Want My 3g Phone Now Not In 2 Weeks!

I called Orange on 150 and went through to the upgrades department eagerly wanting to order my Sanyo. I'm in the 11th month of my contract so thought it would be pretty simple.

Because my current tarriff is x net 120 ( only recently changed it from x net 400 and wish I had hadnt ) I have to first change my plan to at least x net 200 before I can order my upgrade.
"Ok" I said, "change me over now".
"Sorry, but because your next billing date isn't until the 26th you'll have to wait till then". :eek:

Is there anything I can do???????????????????

Currently Orange 3G is only available in specific tariffs. You must wait for your tariff to change over before you can have a 3G handset.

I understand this would be frustrating, but at least then you wont have a phone that's very expensive to use for two weeks. Perhaps try calling 350 for 3G support and explain your concern to them. See if there's anything anyone will do to upgrade you immedately and start your free data and video early - before the tariff change takes effect.

Do what i done.

Go ahead and get your 3g phone on a new tarrif/contract and switch your old phone down to the lowest tarrif available (£13 i think?) for your last month, then cancel.

...then you have to get a new number. I'd say the main reason people upgrade when they're staying on the same network is to retain their number. Otherwise, you need to port it out to another network and then port it back into the new contract.
