A am currently on Vodafone on a pay monthly contract - which I have had for over 18 months. However, this September I decided to upgrade my Nokia 3650 to the 6820 for free as my trusty 3650 had stopped working.

At the time of the upgrade, the Vodafone Upgrade Advisor said I could upgrade now, and again in Christmas.

So, Christmas is upon us! I went to Vodafone and asked for an upgrade from my 6820 to the 6630. And guess what? I can't upgrade again until September 2005!!!

The only way around it is either to cancel my current contract with vodafone (I would have to pay the remaining line rental), or buy the 6630 outright (vodafone offering it sim-free for £350 to me)

Can anyone help or suggest anything?

You can upgrade at any point during your contact, but you'll be subject to an upgrade fee. It'll probably cost you more than if you just bought the handset SIM-Free because you'll have to pay the subsidy from your last upgrade too. However, you'll probably need to upgrade, otherwise you wont get the all important USIM - unless they can sort something else out for you.

Ask how much it'd cost to upgrade part-way through the contract.

Edit: Just realised, this thread needs to be moved to the Voda forum.
