I've recently signed up to 3, my existing network provider was O2 so I got a PAC from then and 3 told me the transfer would take place on Fri 3rd Dec.

On Fri 3rd Dec, I noticed during the afternoon my old mobile was inactive, so got home and thought my number would now be transferred onto my 3 mobile.....WRONG!! When dialling my mobile number the following message was now heard "The number you have called is not recognised"

I phoned customer services on the Saturday morning (in India) and was told it would be ready in 48 hours, it is now nearly a week later and the number is still not working.

I have phoned twice a day for six days to customer services, and every time I am told it will be ready in 48 hours and it is with the relevant dept. just as if they are reading it from a script.

I have asked to speak to management or at least someone in the UK but they won't put me through, I was also hung up on this morning despite always being polite to them.

I have had my mobile number 5 years and also have it on my business cards, nobody has been able to contact me since last Friday.

3 Customer Services don't seem to care about the problem at all.

Who do I need to turn to now to get this resolved, I am at my Wits end, any help from you guys would be VERY appreciated

Thanks,
Chris :(

Had the same problem. And so did people transfering into o2, voda, orange, t-mobile.. so it wasn't just three....

anyway, I spoke to a young lady in the scottish office and it was sorted in a matter of hours. They also offered me a goodwill credit :)

Call the 0870 number but replace the 333 with 300... thats what I did.. went straight thru to the UK office.

Also let your dealer know the situation...

yeah, get the dealer to do the hardwork. It is their responsibility to ensure you get what you paid for.

Cheers, phoned the 300 number and they put me through to someone actually helpful to talk to from Scotland, hopefully this is on its way to being sorted out now

Your new 3 phone? Have you tried taking the SIM out for ten mins, reinstalling and then powering up?

Sounds weird, but try it!

my old number is now ported, have been on the phone to India for a week trying to sort this out. Spoke to someone in the UK and they fixed it in 20 minutes.

It may well be cheaper to outsource call centres, but it's certainly less efficient! Companies don't value the benefits of localised in-house customer service anymore :(

Abs0lutley right. The Trainline's customer service centre moved abroad and they are rubbish too; the trick with them and 3 is (in extreme cases like yours) to keep redialling and hanging up until you hear a british voice- sounds mean and slightly nationalist i suppose but it's your money they're taking : )

best try this early in the morning

Got my electric bill this morning :-( and noticed a few small errors with the readings. Rang the call centre on my 3 phone (at home with a full signal) and was speaking to a helpful lady for about 5 mins, when suddenly my phone went down to one signal bar and dropped the call. As soon as it dropped the call the siganl went back upto full! hmm. Rang back the electric company and spoke to another lady to check that the corrections had been made and told her my mobile had cut me off for no good reason. She said "It isn't a 3 phone is it?"
"Why yes it is" I answered.
"I had one of those, they're rubbish. I don't use it anymore and keep it in a drawer - best place for it" she replyed.

I won't divulge the name of the electric company to protect the innocent, but it appears to be common knowledge that 3 are pants.

Oh and the electric companies call centre was in the UK.
