Tokyo -- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it has developed the first FOMA(r) compact flash card, P2402, which will enable 3G videophone and other wireless data communication via PCs and PDAs, such as DoCoMo's sigmarion(r) III. The sales launch will be announced as soon as it is fixed.

The P2402 will offer high-speed packet transmissions of up to 384 kbps for downlinks and 64 kbps for uplinks, as well as 64 kbps for circuit-switched data transmissions.

DoCoMo's new flash memory card will enable videophone calls between a PC and a FOMA handset, Lookwalk(r) P751v PHS videophone, P-in Free(tm) series PHS data card-equipped device or ISDN fixed-line videophone (requires a PC equipped with videophone software, USB compatible web camera and headset).
