Vodafone Live! to promote 3G service with first major interactive TV campaign
Vodafone has launched its first concerted iTV ad campaign, to promote the launch of Vodafone Live! 3G.
The operator chose to use the iTV medium for the depth of information it provides to help explain the more extensive services offered by the Vodafone Live! ****** over 3G.
'With 3G there's just so much more there and iTV allows customers to understand the service more,' said a Vodafone spokesman.
When viewers press red, they're taken through to a range of pages that explain, with video, what services are available on Vodafone Live! 3G, including full track music downloads.
The iTV ad tempts viewers to navigate through the pages with competition prizes such as a pair of 3G phones and tickets to the Manchester United versus Chelsea football match.
This is the operator's first iTV advertising since it 'dabbled' with the medium to promote the launch of Vodafone Live! two years ago. According to a spokesman, it's likely to do more on the platform in future.
'However it's more expensive, so we need to be choosy about when and where we do it,' he said.
The campaign was created by JWT, with media buying by OMD.
