fg microtec and Sendo sign co-operative agreement
Munich start-up gains first significant customer in the UK

Munich, Germany, October 2003 * * * fg microtec (www.fgmicrotec.com), a leading global supplier of embedded software solutions for the mobile world, announced a co-operation with Sendo, a UK-based leader in innovative mobile handset designs. Under this agreement Sendo gains immediate access to a comprehensive range of fg microtec’s world-leading Predictive Flow Control™ (PFC) solutions. This new partnership represents a significant expansion of fg microtec’s existing customer base, including the likes of Infineon in Europe and Amoisonic in Asia.
The fg microtec patented PFC™ technology analyses network behaviour to predict the best timeframe for data transmission. This unique approach offers unparalleled spectral efficiency and therefore a speed and quality increase to reach the high data throughput rates necessary for picture, music or video Instant Message applications. The PFC™ algorithms have a positive impact on end user behaviour and customer acceptance of Instant Messaging, MMS and WAP services offered by mobile phone operators. Using PFCTM on a GPRS handset offers speed, fun, and the compelling real-time feeling necessary to create a true mobile entertainment experience.
While voice communication continues to be a key driver for owning a cellular phone, voice functionality is becoming a commodity and is increasingly being taken for granted. Therefore, additional functionality, applications and services are needed to motivate users to replace or own a cellular phone in predominantly replacement markets.
“With the fg microtec PFC™ software IP functionality and features integrated into our mobile phones we are able to offer best in class solutions for the Mobile Media markets,” stated Ron Schaeffer, Head of Product Strategy and Planning at Sendo.
“We are truly thrilled to work with Sendo and pleased to expand our existing customer base in Europe and Asia by such a significant UK partner,” said fg microtec Managing Director Ramin Mirbaha.
