Could someone tell me if an 0800 (freephone call) costs and if so how much when called from a contract 3 number

Thanks

They are charged at normal rates and are NOT included in contract minutes (apart from some early high user tarriffs). Only Orange allow unlimited 0800/0808 calls on their 'Your Plan' tarriffs AFAIK.

T&Cs say they are charged, but IME they are NOT, providing the 0800 number is either a member of THA, or NOT an LCR company.

Do a test call, close to ya billing date, then check ya bill.

Be wary though, as the situation could change at any time (example - 3pay's new T&Cs re: 0870 / 0845 numbers have just kicked in)

AFAIK They usually play a pre-recorded announcement if you are to be charged giving you ther option to cancel the call. This is standard on all the networks.

Sorry Kev. Didn't answer part of ya question.

Contract call charges to phone ********** are listed at 10p per min in the 3 priceguide.

3GSU - I'm gonna check thru my bills to see if I have been charged in the past for 0800 access. You are right about the message tho - you get a warning message from 3 that you are about to be charged for the call - I just tried it!

Will keep ya posted.

You cannot always assume that just because you get that message you are about to get charged.

Its just auto kicks in when you dial one of the afore mentioned numbers - even if they are free on your tariff.

I get it as a Caboodle user who call call 0800 thru to 0871 as part of my inclusive minutes.

Even though Im not going to be charged for it, I still get the message.
