It says at the end of the video that it costs 25p to call the number and see the current special report.

That's actually reasonably priced, for a change.

Sorry mate. For a change???? Don't understand. News bulletins all cost 25p anyway on the services grid. Always have.

When you phone 30001 and press the video call button, this acts as a shortcut as this is what the phone will do if u went on the services grid and slected news on Qplay. its a good ider.

What I mean is compared to most of 3's content. £1.50 for a wallpaper, for example, is extortionate. A lot of 3's content is seriously overpriced, but news reports are reasonable.

Wallpapers / screensavers / ringtones are all more expensive than most content. I don't buy them myself. You can download stuff off the net cheaper anyway, but compared to other networks, the prices are competitive. Let's face it - 3 are charging a premium on customising tools like these. Fair play. Everyone else does it.

However, with new phones u can use MP3s anyway, so sack naff midis and polyphonics, I say.

As for the other content, If u have video value and u stay away from the chargeable stuff (porn / extras / games to buy), I think the content is great value! Unlimited = very cheap per item = great!

If you think £1.50 is expensive for a wallpaper you'll not want to download anything from T-Mobile then - their cheapest wallpaper is £1.75 - the average price is £2.50. £1.50 is fairly reasonable in comparison to alot of others.

Where are there wallpapers for £ 1.50 on Three, all of the wallpapers which I have seen on 3 cost the same as there ringtones (£ 2.50)

OTHER SHORTCUTS:

I have cut and pasted this from the 3seller weekly bulletin. Hope you guys find it useful:

Video shortcodes
3 has launched a nifty new video feature – video shortcodes. Video shortcodes will enable 3 customers to access video content by entering a simple 5 digit code. This means you don’t have to go through the browser every time to access video clips.

A useful tip for downloading content on your 3 demo handset, simply dial a shortcode and press the video call key.

Quick update: just tried the 30002 shortcode and is now a daily 'Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' update video, not ITN.

It tells you it costs 25p for the 70sec clip after you have watched it, i always thought 3 like to tell you in advance when you were being charged for a video?

It might be that they have not "officially" released those short codes yet. When they do (via press release or MMS to your phone) they would tell you then. They are starting to plug it at the end of the ITN news reports, and it tells you there that it costs 25p.

They make a brief mention of these new ways to access content (short codes and some not so new methods) in their pricing PDF.

I wonder if calling these short codes is included in my Video Value unlimited access plan? I hope so as my NEC228 no longer lets me stream video the old fashioned way!

3GNWSeller mentions a 3g seller news bulletin going out about this service on the 28 Nov.

I tried it twice at lunchtime- it cut out after 2 secs both times and charged me 25p both times. Phoned CS who were clueless. Then went to a 'flagship' 3 store in Ken High Street.

They hadn't a clue about it- first they thought it wasn't a 3 service at all. Anyway the guy tried it on his phone and it worked once he'd worked out how to dial 30001 and press the vid button and it worked. he then tried my phone, another 25p, in case it was the sim and it worked as well. No idea why it didn't work-in a full 3g area.

I then tried it myself with another 3000 number and it was fine.

Quite good if you pay for individual pieces of content as opposed to video value with the one rather important proviso-for some reason it doesn't always work and you still get charged.
