Hi.

I remember going to three.co.uk when Three first launched and seeing their huge amazingly overpriced phones and OK contracts. Also I remember a service called Kit and Caboodle (or was it Kaboodle?). Can anyone remind me what it was and whether it was good or not? It didn't seem to last very long!

ALSO

Take a look at this advert below, lol, they tried! :(

http://www.tom-mitchell.co.uk/three.wmv

It's coming from my webserver, so it might not be streamable.

Kit and Caboodle - those are dream tariffs, I wonder why 3 don't do them any more?

And I remember that launch advert, back in the days when 3 were pushing videocalling as the BIG thing (when there was nobody to videocall to)

And the handset they feature - NEC e808 - what a brick! I had one as a loan phone and was VERY happy to have my dear A835 back!

Now, it's moved on from the price of calls to the available content, how things change...

Hang on!

VT1000 and VT2000 are very similar. Yes Caboodle offered more texts, but VTs give slightly better / worse MMS / Vid mins I think.

Kit and Caboodle are still available to existing customers on those tariffs, wishing to upgrade.

I am on VT2000 and am very happy with it. My highest bill = £106.

Check for yerself.

"Kit and Caboodle - those are dream tariffs, I wonder why 3 don't do them any more? "

How are they when you get 500 X/Net mins and 100 texts on TT600 for £5/month. Get 4 and simply switch the USIM's if you are a power user (Give out one number though for incoming calls). You'll need to carry 2 handsets - but you get 4 free! Sell the 2 extra ones on and offset your bills even further!

Even better 2000 mins and 400 texts for £20/month minus the profit from 2 handset sales = £60 (+ sell off the 3 free BT headsets for another £45) - so your package would cost you £135 or £11.25/month - if you buy the right deal from the right places and play 3 at their own game!

You can't get 4 phones in your name. Good try. Would be fun trying not to lose the sim cards / phones, plus keeping tabs on ya useage, so u don't run over on one specific handset.

You should be on commission yerself, punting cashback deals mate!

Don't expect great service from the dealer that does the deal though. He won't make any money whatsoever if you redeem the cashback, so he won't be able to AFFORD to help you with any probs you may have, or advice you require.

"Would be fun trying not to lose the sim cards / phones, plus keeping tabs on ya useage, so u don't run over on one specific handset."

Getting 4 handsets on contract should be no problem is you explain they are for a small business and your credit rating will stand that.

A doddle with My3 - remember it gives you your reminaing airtime (when it works).

To hell with the dealer assistance its worth nothing! He is obligated under the Sale of Goods Act (1971) to ensure that electrical items work for a year anyway - contract is between the dealer and the customer and has nothing to do with the network in terms of faulty equipment supplied.

"To hell with the dealer assistance... contract is between the dealer and the customer and has nothing to do with the network in terms of faulty equipment supplied."

WRONG!

I am a dealer. I know what I am talking about.

You don't.

The contract is between the network and the customer. You talk SUCH garbage, you actually sound like you believe it.

As for "to hell with the dealer assistance", some dealers give EXCELLENT service, which the customer is generally very grateful for, hence recommendations / repeat business, etc. Just because YOU are trying to rip 3 off, doesn't mean everyone else out there doesn't appreciate real service. Then again - YOU were sold a 606 and a 7600. Nuff said!

Thank you.

Go and research the Sale of Goods Act (1971) and see what it says in relation to 'merchantable quality' and electrical devices and read what it says about who the contract is between in terms of the provider of those.

Obviously the network services are not covered by this legislation but as a retailer those supplying the phones are.

Ahhh. That explains why all those ALLEGED "duff 3 phones" you have enjoyed reporting about during the last few months have resulted in members of the public taking the phone shops to court, yeah?

How many press releases have you dug up for those court cases then?

NONE.

You talk such rubbish mate. You are actually boring me now! Yawn

That's funny.... in another thread you did'nt question Jimny Cricket who had HIS phone replaced by the dealer (as is his right).

Wanna go back and check that out?

Dont be bored - try sleeping on it!

We replace the phone in the first 14 days due to network stipulation, which is then credited by the network.

After that time the network takes liability for the contract. The dealer is not involved contractually, aside from usual credit-checking / ID proof-retaining obligations.

Muppet!

Under the warranty you have to replace the handset in store up to 28 days, read 3's T's and C's.

Both you and 3GSU need to do some research on this thread methinks!

It is scarey to think that a dealer doesn't even know the warranty process for 3 when they are selling them every day. Hopefully this has cleared things up about what a dealer should do for a customer.

I'm not an expert on the sales of good act, so I cannot comment on that one.

How did a simple question about Kit and Caboodle descend into such a slagging match !!!

Hi Ice.

To answer your question, the simple question descends from post number 4 in the thread!

I didn't start it! ;)

PS: Evolution. Sorry mate - you are mistaken. Under new conditions, phones older than 14 days are repaired / replaced by 3UK, via their dedicated Technical Repair Service.

So my original statement IS correct.

The above may reflect the contractual agreement that is in place between the network and the dealer but it does not change the legal status of the agreement made by the customer and that is covered by the Sale Of Goods Act (1971). The contract for the supply of the handset is made between the dealer and the customer and ultimately it is the dealer who is responsible for the merchantable quality of the goods for a period of 12 months.

Check out the consumer legislation to validate.

Oh god, another dispute....

I'm right in thinking you'll be using this month's included minutes to telephone the best lawyer in town?
