View Full Version : Add Video Value now includes video minutes

How long has this been the case? I've never personally bothered with the video value add-on as I never download the content anyway but when I was recently looking around I noticed that the £10/month add-on now includes 20 video calling minutes and 20 video messages. Certainly makes it a bit more appealing - and it may even get the lower end users trying out video calls once in a while (apart from the ones with 7600s of course). Unfortunately they are only on-net calls and messages so you won't be able to use them to talk to your friends on their flashy new vodafone handsets ;)

seems to be only for contract owners

Are you sure about that, I'd like to be 100% on that one as I was going to try x-network video messaging?

Hi

Yes simon69c is correct. Unfortunately the add-on is for on-net only NOT x-net.

Kind regards

Not that I don't believe either of you (FWIW I do) it'd just nice to have a link to where Three state this (not that getting it from the horse's mouth is entirely acurrate!).

Cheers, much appreciated. Funny that I never saw that on-net bit before. I don't know if I blanked it, it wasn't there or I didn't 'get' the meaning (ie I saw it but didn't see it for what it was - I see "x-net" everywhere now but no "on-net".).

Who knows, anyway - I appreciate you two pointing it out as I could've ended up spending a small fortune. Instead I've got two weeks to annoy the only person I know who actually uses their 3 phone. I think she'll really appreciate 20 video messages - or perhaps not! ;o)

Well, I understand the on-net video calling, but on-net video messaging? A little harsh there...

Perhaps 3 have only felt the need to add "on-net" since Vodafone launched their 3G service (x-net video calls not possible when they're the only network supporting it)

I suppose it would be nice to have the inclusive video in 3pay as well, but I suppose we have Add Everything for that...

3 now have video mailbox messaging. You can apparently leave a video message as an answerphone message.

Good idea.

To pick them up is inclusive in call allowances, outwith it's 25p/min.

Now I think this might catch on!

I'm sure I've read 3 to vodafone video calling is possible, just like orange to 3.

I'd like to know how 3 will distinguish between ported in numbers to 3 and off-net numbers

When you port your number you end up with two numbers, your ported number for normal calls and 3 to 3 calls. The second is a video calling number needed for other network to 3 calls and international calls. I ported over my number but haven't tried any of my free video calls since I don't know anyone else on a 3G phone, got mine because of the good deals on talk and text 600.
Incidently the video value package is only £5 on talk and text contracts, but keep an eye on your bill in case they try to overcharge. Had to call cust. service and argue with them when I was charged £10, actually had to have the numpty on the other end of the line read a copy of my bill which advertised the video value add on as being £10 or £5 for talk and text customers before she would believe me.
