I'm sorry if this has been mentioned or answered in previous posts, but does anyone know now much 3 have/will send on their Christmas Advertising campaign? :confused:
It definitely seems to be underway, I've not passed a bus shelter without seeing some little panda-like monsters, not watched an episode of the X-Factor without some sort of "Welcome to our Network" ad, whether it be the jellyfish (eh?) the little girl (um.?) or the panda like monsters (Aww...?)

They have £20 million to spend on their advertising this Xmas - more than any other network - and its all paying dividend with them being the fastest growing network in the UK and the fastest new network to gain a million customers.

Last figures a few months ago showed 1.2 million - most people expect them to hit just over 2 million by the end of the year based upon their current growth.
How would that contributer know? Its a closely guarded secret that will only be disclosed by Hutchison when it is in their interest.
I bet it'll be over 2 million (many will be lapsed or disposed of though) but I suspect 2 million might be about right as an accurate number.

You got any inside info about up and coming changes to 3 like content ect.
They wont do much... they will continue throwing money at aquiring customers with cheap voice calls - that's the only thing that has worked for them to date. It'll be minimal lip service in terms of new stuff for those who have the service.

3GSU - its not just your estimate its clear from the way they are piling on members (more in one month than Voda piled on in the last reported quarter) that they are clearly going to break thru two million.

3GSU who cares how they got the customers, they got um! Simple as that, its called a sales tactic, and its obviously working
Nope - do the sums and work out how you can make a profit from suppling a £170 handset to a customer on a 12 month contract when they pay £60 back. There is also the question of the 500 mins X/net calls - 3 pay more to other networks than the user pays! Of course some incoming stuff might pay back some of that and maybe the average user could view some content... but overall 3 will be out of pocket and at the end of 12 months unless its a great service when the price per month reverts to £30 - most will leave..... so the pressure is on 3 to make the service worthy of the advertised tarriff.... I doubt if they will

Except 3GSU didn't hit the edit key, the first time I saw that post, it included 3GSU's estimate of 2 million and it does now.
Why do you work so hard to discredit (flame) 3GSU?

What bothers me is that there is a band of users who fiercely defend 3, which is fine, but they do so by flaming and attacking anyone who says anything negative about 3 while being very quick to attack the competition and anyone who says anything postive about it as and when it arrives (haveagoade, Tebbs, [new2three, killahurts] I WILL mention names) it doesn't really help those who come to this forum for advice. Let's just stick to personal experiences of what our service is like without personal attacks and flamewars then maybe this forum can fulfill its purpose.
What do you have to say to the above?

It applies to all PAYG from november 1st (I think) to December Top shelf, ringtones/wallpapers and something else are not included in the promotion.
There is also an ad for the new video dating on 3 website.

What does accusing users of trousering cash from other networks, whining because users edit their posts, flaming other users, being one of greatest pollutants on this board and accusing other users of thread pollution, crying "Please Sir, he started it!" and making 3 off-topic flames at a particular user when one would off-topic flame have done have to do with 3's Xmas advertising campaign?
And as for my opinion on the current campaign, all I've seen of it was posters and newspapers ads featuring the 3D characters, I wasn't aware it was a Christmas campaign as it's been running for a month now and doesn't look particularly Christmas-y. To be honest I'm a little unsure what 3's are about, maybe that's the plan...
