Just arranged for my phone to go back for repair on their 3 day turn round, pick up Monday back Weds, just wondering if what they actually do is send you a different phone, as this time scale seems very short.
They would have to repair and send out the phone on the same day.Anybody had any experience of this service and did you get your original phone back

hi,
the way in which the 3 day repair service works is that the phone is picked up by parcel line and taken for repair.
you get it back in 3 days.
you do get your own phone back after it has been repaired depending upon the fault.
i think from what i have been told by a friend who works in a 3 retail point that if it goes back for repair 3 times for the same fault, then they will replace it with a new handset.
the above is the procedure if you have bought the phone from a 3 retail point, i dont know about other mobile phone shops.
hope this answers your question.

hi,

This is one area three seem to do efficiently.
On multiple occasions I've had handset picked up to around 5pm on day1, and returned 8am on day 3. Quite amazing. This last time I arranged this with three, then contacted parcelline & dropped the parcel off for them as I was going in to work.
Unfortunately after several failures to fix (or respond to) the multiple faults, my A835 is now being exchanged for a A925 (offered refurb lg8110/another a835 or try a925)- but again here customer services were prompt/efficient/helpful - well done.
They did assure me the A925 will come with two batteries, of which one will be extended, including the door (to get comparable battery life to the A835) but I suspect this won't happen...

wasn't happy. my new phone (lg flip on contract) took 2 weeks to come. probs i've had with it (within a month)
**phone keeps cutting out on people mid-call
**no one i've spoken to at the care line has had a clue about any of the probs i've experienced
**my phone has now got some kind of software problem. i have been told to get my contract upgraded again. i pointed out that this was ridiculous.now i have to take my phone to a carphone warehouse, apparently, and get the software upgraded, having been told to take my phone to london or rochester (i live in wolverhampton.)
**phoned carphone warehouse; as i upgraded to contract from 3pay because they called me up and offered me a contract, rather than going through the carphone warehouse, the c.w. have asked why i am phoning them about my phone. it's going to take either a couple of days to fix it if i go to an express centre, or 2 weeks if i take it to a normal carphone warehouse. they also wanna charge me a deposit of £65 for a loan phone for 2 weeks, despite the fact this is meant to be covered by the insurnace i'm meant to have got free for 6 months with my phone.
i'm especially annoyed as loads of mms have been sent to me that i can't open, and being told to upgrade a one-month old phone has got me super mad. surely this is ridiculous? i was also told to try other sims in my phone and other phones for my sim; surely they should have known at the call centre what the problem is?
no offence, but for christ's sake at least have people in the call centre who a)know what the faults are on the phones and b)have some knowlege of england. this is ridiculous.

hi paloma,
1st of all, welcome 2 the 3g forum.
how long have you had the phone?
if you have had it less than 14 days you can return it to where you bought it from and cancel the contract, if it is over 14 days but within the 28 days then you can exchnage it for another handset.
if you are over the 28 days then the only option is to get it repaired through car phone warehouse or phone customer services and arrange for parcel line to collect it from your home address.
is it an lg u8110 or lg u8120?
the lg's have been more reliable compared to other 3 handsets so far.
if you had bought it from a 3 retail point in superdrug, you could take it back and get it repaired there, they offer a 3 day express repair service.
unfortunately they wont handle repairs from other retailers.
you could try to e-mail customer services - contact.centre@three.co.uk or try the number which is posted on this forum, dont know if it still works though.
hope this info helps.
